SUMMARY:SFA Chapter 41 Memorial Day Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:This Memorial Day\, our Chapter will host a small ceremony to honor the fallen\, at a local site with Special Forces significance. We’ll gather at the memorial statue of SFC Nathan Chapman\, the first service member killed during Operation ENDURING FREEDOM in Afghanistan. At the time of his death shortly after the invasion of Afghanistan\, SFC Chapman was assigned to 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) and detailed to a special mission.  \nSFC Chapman’s parents previously lived in Williamson County\, which led to the creation and dedication of a memorial statue in Georgetown\, located in a small plaza just outside of the Williamson County Justice Center. (See photo below.) \nAfter the ceremony\, we will adjourn to the Tejas Meat Supply restaurant to enjoy their delicious sandwiches and raise a frosty beverage to the fallen. \nPlease join us in honoring our teammates who have gone before us\, and all those who have sacrificed for our country! \n \nWho may attend? Please invite any and all friends and family that are interested in attending\, especially any Special Forces qualified individuals who reside in the area but may not be a chapter member. \nSchedule for Monday\, 29 May 2023:\n1000-1030: Chapter members and guests arrive at Williamson County Justice Center parking lot.\n     – Meet at SFC Chapman statue\n     – Uniform: Casual/Polos\, beret if available\, SFA blazer with crest if you have one. Enjoy Independence Day!\n\n\n\nInstead\, we’ll meet for a family-friendly gathering at The Vineyard at Florence on Saturday\, July 9th from 4-6pm.\n\n\n\nThis is north of Austin\, but well worth the drive for a relaxing time at a local winery. Try a wine or three on your own while enjoying the resort grounds\, or make a more formal effort to sample their vintages at a wine tasting. There’s also a game room and outdoor activities with something that’s sure to fit your tastes. Dinner is available in their Farmers Commons\, an eatery that combines Texas-grown ingredients with global cuisine.\n\n\n\nWe hope to see you there!

SUMMARY:SFA 41 Memorial Day Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:This Memorial Day\, our Chapter will host a small ceremony to honor the fallen\, at a local site with Special Forces significance. We’ve selected the memorial statue of SFC Nathan Chapman\, the first service member killed during Operation ENDURING FREEDOM in Afghanistan. At the time of his death shortly after the invasion of Afghanistan\, SFC Chapman was assigned to 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) and detailed to a special mission.  \nSFC Chapman’s parents previously lived in Williamson County\, which led to the creation and dedication of a memorial statue in Georgetown\, located in a small plaza just outside of the Williamson County Justice Center. (See photo below.) \nAfter the ceremony\, we will adjourn to the Tejas Meat Supply restaurant to enjoy their delicious sandwiches and raise a frosty beverage to the fallen. \nPlease join us in honoring our teammates who have gone before us\, and all those who have sacrificed for our country! \n \nWho may attend? Please invite any and all friends and family that are interested in attending\, especially any Special Forces qualified individuals who reside in the area but may not be a chapter member. \nSchedule for Monday\, 30 May 2022:\n1000-1030: Chapter members and guests arrive at Williamson County Justice Center parking lot.\n     – Meet at SFC Chapman statue\n     – Uniform: Casual/Polos\, beret if available\, SFA blazer with crest if you have one.
